We have accepted honey donations in the past as well as donations of beekeeping equipment. From the Mid-Atlantic, we accept honey in any form -- in the comb, in the bucket, filtered or non-filtered. We can work with it all. And we are a non-profit, so we can also of course give you documentation of your donation.
Outside of the Mid-Atlantic, we encourage you to help us use your local honey where it will help most -- locally! We can send you labels, hangtags and even jars should you want to take your own honey and sell it in your area. Then, simply send in your donation to Hives for Lives and specify which region you would like your profits to be sent to. We have identified over 10 regional hospitals in the nation that we partner with. LOCAL HONEY MEANS LOCAL MONEY.
This year we also were so grateful to receive a donation of honey from Billy Davis. Billy is working on a queen rearing project to develop a successful program to supply northern Virginia beekeepers with quality local queens. He hopes that local queens will help to improve the survivability of hives.
We will also be accepting a donation in the fall from Lexie and her grandfather who live in our area and are raising bees together.
If you are interested in donating in any way, please contact us at molandcar@hivesforlives.com!
